Next Meeting

Charleston SAME Post monthly meeting will be held at the North Towne Grille on Thursday, March 18, 2010.

On February 18, Mr. Michael Dorman, Principal of Multivista Carolinas, demonstrated the value of online construction documentation. His firm establishes a comprehensive plan of sequenced photographic records at multiple positions and angles repeated constantly as the construction project progresses.  These records are available to stakeholders, including the design team, to monitor conformance to plans and specifications more regularly than site visits would allow.  One example showed how photos of plumbing showed construction deficiencies which might have been concealed by drywall by the time the designers visited the site and could have resulted in serious problems for the owners years after the construction warranty expired. It was an exciting eye-opening experience.

Our next meeting, on March 18, 2010, will feature Kevin Turner, P.E. and Shannon Graeber, P.E., Collins Engineers, Inc., speaking on the "Seismic Screening of 28 Structures at Ft. Vancouver"

Board members are asked to attend a Board Meeting at 10 am, prior to the monthly meeting.

We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.
